H&H Environmental began as a “service by necessity” idea by founder Nick Holland and his wife Lindsey Holland. The two lived in Seattle, WA for a brief time where options for recycling seemed to be everywhere. The two moved back to Denver in 2008 to a 25 unit apartment building in Washington Park and realized very quickly that the recycling options in Denver were not as vast or accessible. The idea grew as Lindsey began working at a local fitness club in downtown Denver that did not offer its members or employees recycling. Frustrated by the lack of options Nick and Lindsey decided to offer the fitness club one of H&H Environmental’s in house recycling programs. The business was born.
In the summer of 2009 H&H Environmental’s client base was starting to grow and it was obvious to both founders that if the business was going to expand they needed a third partner. Nick and Lindsey approached Nick’s younger brother Phillip Holland to see if he was interested in coming on as a partner and owner in the business. Phillip joined H&H Environmental in July of 2009.
H&H Environmental continues to grow as do the needs of our clients and prospective clients. Everyday H&H finds solutions for our clients in all aspects regarding recycling, and any environmental questions they may have. H&H is striving to become Denver’s premier recycling choice for residents and businesses. Please follow us on our business venture by keeping up to date with the ongoings here at H&H through our Twitter, Facebook and blog pages. We look forward to handling all of your recycling needs!

Phillip Holland
Phillip grew up on a farm in southern Douglas County. His appreciation for our environment developed naturally – as a kid, he was always in it. Whether hiking over mountains or through forests, sleeping under the stars, or sledding down a carved-out course through the scrub-oak, Phillip never knew how good he had it. As he grew, the environment around him grew denser, and he began to cherish his outdoors time more and more. After moving to Denver in 2001, he began to develop his belief that effective development and urban design promoted dense, efficient cities where people can thrive. In turn, this leaves our natural world more natural, and our time spent in it more authentic. Opportunity knocked in June 2009, shortly after graduating from Metropolitan State College of Denver. When Nick & Lindsey approached him with the H&H idea, he jumped, and the rest is the present. History to follow.
